A man from Cluj drove into a restaurant in Beile Erculane. The driver was in the parking lot and accidentally accelerated.

A car driven by a 48-year-old man from Cluj rammed into a wall, drove past restaurant tables and stopped in the wall, Cluj News reports.

The incident was recorded by surveillance cameras. The man’s wife got out of the car and was hit when the driver accelerated. Fortunately, she was not injured.

“Yesterday at 16:00, the police of the Beile Erculane police station were informed that a person drove a car into the restaurant of a local hotel. During the inspections, it was established that when a 48-year-old man from Cluj County parked his car in the private parking lot of the hotel in question, he allegedly recklessly accelerated the car, after which he entered the door inside the restaurant, destroying several tables and chairs, as well as other property,” the police said.

Now the driver pays well. The police opened criminal proceedings for the crime of willful destruction, the damages will be determined later.
