Romania dropped to 45th place in the FIFA ranking

The Romanian national team under the leadership of Edi Iordenescu was able to secure its presence at the European Championship in Germany after an 8-year break.

On Thursday, FIFA published the overall ranking, and Romania fell two more places to 45th.

The change came as a result of the Edi Iordenescu-coached side not playing a single match during this period, with the competition taking place across two continental territories, the Asian Cup and the African Cup of Nations.

Belgium, Romania’s future opponents at EURO 2024, are in fourth place.
