Gross domestic product per capita reached 20,000 euros for the first time this year, and investment spending is 120 billion lei, corresponding to 7% of GDP, Finance Minister Marcel Bolosh said, according to Agerpres.
- “This year, in which we record the first one, namely that GDP per capita reaches 20,000 euros, investment spending is approximately 120 billion lei, more than 7% of GDP. At the moment, one of the main goals is to maintain the balance at the macroeconomic level and focus on co-financing European projects. By 2024, we forecast to attract more than 10 billion euros, as well as to achieve a ratio of investment programs for the development of local communities with funding programs from European money,” he wrote the Minister of Finance on his Facebook page.
On Tuesday, he took part in the 27th regular session of the General Assembly of the Association of Municipalities of Romania, during which he revealed that the total budget of Romanian municipalities increased from 9.2 billion lei to 9.5 billion lei.
- “Today I had the opportunity to talk with mayors of communes from all regions of the country and I took the opportunity to thank them. The end of 2023 was difficult for them, in which they played an important role in this process, in which we showed that, above all, the state can take the first step to stabilize the budget deficit by improving the quality of Romanians’ money spending. Their efforts translate into the possibility of continued investments from the Cohesion Policy and the PNRR, whether we are talking about highways, schools, hospitals or water and sewerage networks,” emphasized Marcel Bolosh.
According to the Minister of Finance, an important component on which the national budget is focused is the improvement of living conditions through the Anghel Saligny program, where the budget increases from 1.9 billion lei in 2023 to 4.6 billion lei in 2024 for 2,250 km of road modernization. 150,000 individual connections to water supply and sewerage and 8,397 individual connections to the natural gas network.
