
Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire (the host of the competition) will meet in the final of the Africa Cup of Nations after beating South Africa and DR Congo respectively.

In the first semi-final in Bouake, Nigeria defeated South Africa (4-2 on penalties / score 1-1 after 90 and 120 minutes).
Nigeria opened the scoring thanks to William Trust-Ekong (’67, penalty) and South Africa equalized with Teboho Mokoen (’89, penalty).
In the penalty shoot-out, Nigeria scored from Moffi, Omeruo, Trust-Ekong and Iheanacho (Aina missed), while South Africa scored from Mayambela and Mwala (Nwabali saved Mokoena and Makgopa).
Ivory Coast defeated the Democratic Republic of Congo 1-0 in the second semi-final at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe.
The only goal in the game was scored by Sebastien Haller (’65). The striker of Borussia Dortmund missed two more big moments.

- The final between Nigeria and Ivory Coast will take place on Sunday, February 11 at 10:00 p.m. The match will take place at the Alassane Ouattara stadium in Ebimpe (Abidjan).
- This will be Nigeria’s eighth CAN final. The Super Eagles won the continental title in 1980, 1994 and 2013.
- Ivory Coast will be playing in the CAN finals for the fifth time (it won the trophy in 1992 and 2015. The Elephants lost in the last action in the 2006 and 2012 editions).
