Traditional car shows such as the Paris Motor Show or the Geneva Motor Show no longer attract visitors. To understand this, you only need to look at the program of the Swiss show scheduled for the end of the month.
Hardly anything besides the Lyon Motor Show is doing as well, if not more, right now “car enthusiast” such as Le Mans Classic, Goodwood or even Villa d’Este, but we cannot talk about the show.
However, events dedicated to classic cars are always a great success. Epoqu’Auto in Lyon has recently stocked up, as has Rétromobile, which has just announced results.
There are always more visitors to Rétromobile
The 2024 edition takes place in the same spirit as 2023, according to the organizer 130,000 visitors on this 48thousand editing instead of 125 thousand last year. There were many people in the aisles of the show, including drivers Charles Leclerc, Sébastien Loeb and Stephane Peterhansel, Ferrari Formula 1 team director Frédéric Wasser and famous Porsche collector Magnus Walker.
There are also beautiful birthdays and beautiful stands. For example, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Turbo emblem at Porsche, as well as half a century of the Volkswagen Golf. A few manufacturers have played the game with huge stands, such as MG, which has pride of place among the old cars that have made their mark: the MG Cyberster. Renault has also brought back much of its new lineup with the upcoming Renault 5 models as well as its new Rafale along with the first Rafale aircraft.
The appointment has already taken place in 2025
Good news: Rétromobile is coming back in 2025 and we also know the release dates for the 49thousand edition: it will take place from 5 to 9 February 2025, always in the same place, at the Porte de Versailles.
Considering this year’s success, there should be even more booths and exhibitors next year.
