Judd Trump won his third career title at the German Masters snooker tournament, the second player in the world defeated China’s Xi Jiahui (29th ranking) in the final.

Judd Trump defeated Xi Jiahui in the final of the German Masters 2024

Having reached the first final in his career, Jiahui managed to hold off his opponent at the start of the game (2-2 at the first break). Trump, the 2019 world champion, distanced himself by winning three straight frames and the score was 5-3 after the first session.

Xi Jiahui got close to the scoreboard with a break of 123 points, but Trump responded with the same break (113p) and could not be stopped until the end (the Chinese only got one frame).

  • The German Masters was Judd Trump’s fourth points win of the season, following the English Open, Wuhan Open and Northern Ireland Open. He also played in the Champions League and the World Grand Prix Final.
  • Trump became the first player in history to win the German competition three times (2020, 2021, 2024). He was ahead of John Higgins, Ronnie O’Sullivan, Mark Williams and Ali Carter (two trophies each).
  • At the 2024 German Masters, Judd made 9 breaks with over 100 points (a tournament record).
  • This is Trump’s 27th tournament trophy with points. Only Ronnie O’Sullivan (41), Stevens Hendry (36), John Higgins (31) and Steve Davies (28) have more.

Judd Trump breaks 113 points against Xi Jiahui

German Masters 2024 was held from January 29 to February 4 at the Tempodrom in Berlin. The total prize fund of the tournament was £427,000 and the reigning champion was Ali Carter (2023).
