AUR leader George Simion reacted to the “anti-extremist rally” organized on Sunday in Suceava by the head of the Suceava District Council and the PNL, Gheorghe Flutur: “You are extremists. You are some extremists who want to establish a dictatorship in Romania to keep you in power.”

“Today in Suceava, Baron Flutur is fleeing to the movement, as he says, against extremism. No one is surprised by the fact that for all the Pesidian-Penelist propaganda, it is we, the Auri people, who are the extremists. But why are we extremists? Because we inconvenience them? Because we destroy all their plans to stay in power forever, impoverishing and burdening the Romanian people?” George Simion said, according to News.ro.

He also argued that what they support and promote cannot be called AUR extremists, and that in fact “extremists” are those in power:

  • “No, Gita Flutur! You are extremists! you are the ones who locked us in our homes while you made illegal purchases during the pandemic. You are real extremists because you keep this wonderful country underdeveloped just to play your political games. (…)
  • You, Gice Flutur, together with your gang of yellow or red barons trampled our rights and freedoms! You, Gice, are some extremists who want to establish a dictatorship in Romania to keep you in power, trampling on democracy in our country.”

The “anti-extremist rally” organized by the president of CJ Suceava, Gheorghe Flutur, started on Sunday at noon with tension. The local press reports that the gendarmes intervened and removed the leader of SOS Romania from Suceava, Andrey Nesculescu, from the crowd that had gathered in front of the House of Culture.
