More than 345,000 Romanians have downloaded their criminal records online for free a year after the official Romanian state online payment platform Ghișeul.ro connected with the service center of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Digitization announced. on Friday.
Certificates of criminal record, issued in electronic form, are signed with a qualified electronic signature and equated to real documents.
In the first month of 2024, Ghiseul.ro processed more than 740,000 transactions for a total of 280 million lei. The number of transactions is almost 15% higher than those recorded in January 2023.
Also in January 2024, more than 86,000 Romanians created an account on Ghișeul.ro, and the platform was linked to 25 new institutions of central and local administration.
Until March 31, 2024, Ghiseul.ro users are given a discount of up to 10% on the full payment of local taxes and fees for 2024.
