Ranked 12th in the WTA rankings, the top favorite needed two hours and 23 minutes to reach the quarter-finals, needing a deciding set.
Olena Ostapenko also missed two match points before winning the tiebreak.

In the quarters, she will meet Jodi Burrage (102 WTA), who defeated Jacqueline Christian in the 1/8 finals with the score 6-3, 7-6(5).
The Upper Austria Ladies Linz is part of the WTA 500 category and runs from January 29 to February 4 on hard, offering a total prize pool of $922,573. Titled champion (since 2023) – Anastasia Potapova.
