Fresh from winning his first Grand Slam title at the 2024 Australian Open, Yannick Sinner has announced his retirement from the main draw in Marseille. The French competition is part of the ATP 250 category.

Yannick Sinner has withdrawn from next week’s ATP Marseille tournament – he needs a rest

Grishnyk made a spectacular comeback from 0-2 down in the final against Daniil Medvedev of Melbourne (3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3) and just days after that triumph announced that he withdrawn from the tournament in Marseille.

The competition in France starts next week, but while there is still time before then, Yannick has already confirmed he will not be competing.

“Open 13 Provence, Sinner forfait,” the French organizers announced on the official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Last-minute talks are underway with Oleksandr Zverev, the German is a semi-finalist in Melbourne.

In the absence of Sinner, the main favorite of the competition could be Hubert Gurkach, who is ranked 8th in the ATP and the Marseille champion title.

The Open 13 Provence in Marseille takes place from February 5 to 11 on hard court, is part of the ATP 250 category, offers a total prize money of €724,015, and is championed by Hubert Gurkach.
