
Launched in 2014 Porsche Macan quickly climbed the brand’s sales podium and recorded more than 800,000 units sold: it is therefore an important model for the Stuttgart-based manufacturer, which is now celebrating its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, he returned this year with a second generationbut, as with the Taycan, this all-new model now gives way to all-electric sirens with high-performance engines developing up to 639bhp, all while providing around 613km of range.
Electric Porsche Macan: a new generation in detail
Aesthetically, the new electric Porsche Macan offers a compact but muscular design, SUV-coupe style, in the spirit of the brand’s latest productions. It is distinguished by horizontal rear lighting integrated into a striking black strip, as well as two-stage front lighting equipped with Matrix LED technology. It expands 5 cm in length to reach 4.78 meters, and 2 cm in width (at 1.94 meters), all for 1.62 meters in height. Note the 86 mm longer wheelbase, which is associated with shorter front and rear overhangs.
No surprises inside: we find a presentation in line with the latest Porsche models, with a 12.6-inch curved instrument panel, a 10.9-inch central touchscreen, not forgetting the additional 10.9-inch screen placed in front of the passenger. The driver benefits from a a new projection display with augmented reality, which contains instructions for navigating the road. In terms of practicality, the boot has a volume of 540 litres, supplemented by a small boot in the front, with a volume of 84 litres.
Technically, the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) on-board infotainment system of this new Macan is based on a solution Android Automotive : it is equipped with a voice assistant, accessible with the command “Hey Porsche!” “, which can suggest routes or locations of charging stations to the user, all of which can be done with third-party downloadable apps.
New 100% electric platform
Porsche Macan II is based on PPE platform (Premium Platform Electric) from the Volkswagen Group, p 800 volt architecture, which will also equip the next Audi A6 and Q6. Two engines are offered in the catalog for its launch: version Macan 4 develops to 408 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque (overboost with Launch Control) and is equipped with a battery with a total capacity of 100 kWh, providing up to 613 km of autonomy according to the WLTP combined cycle. Macan 4 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h 5.2 secondsfor a maximum speed of 220 km/h.
THE Macan Turbo develops to 639 horsepower and 1130 Nm of torque (overboost with Launch Control) and is equipped with a battery with a total capacity of 100 kWh, providing up to 591 km of autonomy according to the WLTP combined cycle. Macan Turbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h 3.3 secondsfor a maximum speed of 260 km/h.
The model is compatible with charging power up to 270 kWwhich theoretically allows you to restore 80% autonomy in 21 minutes.
Prices for the new Porsche Macan are starting from 86,439 euros for Macan version 4 and from €118,910 for Macan Turbo.
