Horaciu Moldovan, the third Romanian football player to wear the shirt of Atletico Madrid

After making 102 appearances in the Romanian Super League, Horaciu Moldovan caught the transfer of his career and was transferred to Atletico Madrid for €800,000, matching his release clause at Rapida.

Having turned 26, the Moldovan, who is also the main goalkeeper for the Romanian national team, was officially presented to the group in Madrid on Wednesday and was offered the number 1 shirt by the Spaniards.

At the official presentation at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium, Madrid posted a message in Romanian for the goalkeeper of the Romanian national team.

“Welcome, Horatio Moldovan!” – wrote in “Atletico”.

For €2.6 million, the Moldovan will compete for a starting position with veteran Jan Oblak (number 13), who is likely to be Romania’s opponent at the European Championship in Germany.

On January 25, Atletico Madrid will play in the Spanish Cup against Sevilla, and 3 days later they will host Valencia.

  • Horaciu Moldovan will become the third Romanian footballer to wear the Atlético Madrid shirt, after Daniel Prodan (1996-1998 / 44 matches) and Cosmin Kontra (2002-2005 / 41 matches for Atlético).
