The Palestinian national football team won a historic victory over Hong Kong on Tuesday and advanced to the 1/8 finals of the Asian Nations Cup.

Palestine’s first victory at the Asian Cup

Palestine defeated Hong Kong 3-0 in the third group stage of the Asian Cup in Qatar on Tuesday.

For the Palestinians, it was the first victory in the competition and the team’s first qualification for the 1/8 finals of the Asian Nations Cup.

After losing 4-1 to Iran, Palestine drew 1-1 with the United Arab Emirates in their opener.

Oday Dabbagh and Zeid Kunbar scored twice for Palestine on Tuesday.

The convincing victory, the first in three appearances at the Asian Cup, saw the Palestinians finish third in Group C.

Even better, with four points and a goal difference of zero, the Palestinians are confident of finishing among the top four third-placed teams in the group stage and thus will be playing their best, according to News.ro.
