Chrysler, Fiat, PSA: on the birth of Stellantis in 2021 (born from the merger of Fiat-Chrysler with PSA), the newly created Franco-Italian-American group had to fundamentally reorganize its entire industrial apparatus. A pool of teams, resources and technologies, sharing costs and risks, the goal was to develop low-cost models for each of the 14 brands in this vast automotive galaxy. And means of combining technologies share your engines, your gearboxes, but also and above all its platforms. You know, the foundation on which the entire structure of the car rests. At that time there were 14 of them : 7 at Chrysler, 5 at Fiat and 2 at PSA (CMP and EMP2). Dodge, Jeep, Maserati, Alfa Romeo and Chrysler win, which ditches DS in favor of Alfa Romeo as the group’s first premium brand. Batteries, 400 V or 800 V depending on the configuration, will have capacity from 85 to 118 kW/h, and will be able to accept to Charging power 270 kW.
