Authorities in the suburbs of the city of Chicago, in the north of the United States, are looking for a young man suspected of involvement in the death of seven people found in two nearby houses on Monday, AFP said, citing Agerpres.
On Monday, “a total of seven people were found shot to death,” said Bill Evans, the police chief in Joliet, southwest of Chicago, during a televised news conference.
“We are looking for a suspect named Romeo Nance, 23, who lives in close proximity to the two houses where the bodies were found,” the police officer added. His services released images of the car and its license plate, which authorities are looking for.
It’s the same car wanted for other crimes Sunday, when one man was killed and another seriously injured in a shooting in the same city of Joliet.
The United States pays a very high price for the proliferation of firearms on its soil and the ease with which Americans have access to them.
The country has more individual guns than residents, with one in three adults owning at least one gun and nearly one in two adults living in a home with a gun.
The result of this proliferation is a very high rate of gun deaths in the United States, unmatched by other developed countries.
