Wall Street’s biggest investment bank JPMorgan Chase’s 2023 compensation for its boss, CEO Jamie Dimon, rose about 4.3 percent amid a year of record earnings, Reuters and Agerpres.
Dimon’s 2023 salary was $36 million, including $1.5 million in base salary and $34.5 million in performance bonuses — $5 million in cash and $29.5 million in stock.
Dimon was paid $34.5 million in 2021 and 2022 amid economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and the fallout from the pandemic.
“The annual remuneration for 2023 reflects the way he has led the bank, with growth in all markets, record financial results and a strong balance sheet. In addition, the bank was able to successfully navigate and support its clients in the context of financial market turbulence and the completion of the acquisition of First Republic,” JPMorgan Chase’s Board of Directors said.
In 2023, JPMorgan recorded the highest profit in its history. After the acquisition of First Republic Bank in May, net interest income increased to a record level.
67-year-old Jamie Dimon heads JPMorgan since 2005. According to Forbes, his fortune is estimated at 1.9 billion dollars.
