Caroline Wozniacki, who returned to the WTA after a three-year hiatus and gave birth to two children, has a bold goal at the Australian Open, with the 33-year-old saying she wants to win the trophy at Rod Laver Arena.

Caroline Wozniacki wants to win the Australian Open 2024

The 2018 Melbourne champion (after a stunning final with Simona Halep), Wozniacki advanced to the second round of the Grand Slam event in Melbourne on Sunday.

Wozniacki cruised past, 6-2, 2-0, Magda Lynette (Poland, AO semi-finalist in 2023, had to withdraw after 55 minutes due to back problems).

It was Caroline’s first match in Melbourne after a four-year hiatus.

At the end of her match against Lynette, the Dane said she had worked hard to get back on the WTA circuit and that she felt ready to win the Australian Open.

“I dream of winning the tournament. I worked hard to come back. We don’t think I’ll come back after having two kids, one after the other, that’s a bonus, but I honestly think I’m playing well, so why not?” he noted. Carolina Wozniacki.

  • In the second round of the Australian Open, Wozniacki (ranked 252nd in the world) will meet Maria Timofeeva of Russia (left the qualification, ranked 144th in the WTA).
  • Wozniacki (former WTA No. 1) won 30 WTA titles in her career, one of which was a Grand Slam (AO in 2018). He has 639 wins and 268 losses and has earned $35,550,868 in prize money in tennis alone.
  • Caroline became a mother for the first time on June 11, 2021, when little Olivia was born. In October 2022, Wozniacki announced the birth of James’ second child. The Dane’s husband is David Lee, a former NBA player. They got married in 2019.
  • Wozniacki held the first place in the WTA ranking for 71 weeks.
