
At least 34 people have been killed and dozens injured in a landslide on a highway triggered by heavy rains in northwestern Colombia, Reuters reports.
A landslide that struck on Friday afternoon covered a road connecting the cities of Quibdo and Medellín in the Pacific province of Choco, authorities said in a statement.
Rescuers and dogs from all over Colombia were sent to the scene to search for victims, the report said. The mud completely engulfed several cars on the road.

At least 17 bodies were also transferred to Medellin for examination by medical experts, authorities said.
