One of the leaders of transporters and farmers who have been protesting for five days blocking the ring roads of major cities, Denuc Andrus, said on Saturday evening after a meeting with the leadership of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF) that no common denominator could be reached and that their demands should not be taken into account, reports News.ro.
For his part, ASF President Alexandru Petrescu said that many of the protesters’ requests are also actions that the new leadership of the Financial Supervision Authority is going to take. On Saturday, the protesters held negotiations at the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Transport, and on Sunday at 11:00, negotiations will take place at the Ministry of Finance.
“It was not possible to reach a common denominator”
“Unfortunately, it was not possible to reach a common denominator. I asked for a package of specific measures, because you see our problems, because we, the demands that we put forward, cannot be taken into account in any way. We hope that we will receive a response from the ASF in the coming days. From my point of view, impotence is at home,” said Denuc Andrus, the leader of the protesters, at the end of the discussions at the ASF.
He stated that the lobby of insurers is stronger than the lobby of the population.
“They did not come with specific data. Our demands are not taken into account. You can’t, you can’t and you can’t. Therefore, these things, while the lobby of insurers is stronger than the lobby of the population, everyone suffers. This is life, we can’t do anything,” Denuc Andrush also said.
ASF President Alexandru Petrescu also stated that many of the protesters’ requests are also actions that the organization intends to take.
“I know the agenda of the problems, at least from the public space, since the last few days and also since I took the head of the ASF two or three weeks ago. Many of their requests were also actions that I, as well as my management colleagues, took. We are talking about control, we are talking about audits, all topics are on the table (….) All these measures are designed in such a way that the end result is the reduction of RCA”, said Alexandru Petrescu.
Andrush: The protests will probably continue
The same farmer leader, Denuc Andrus, said on Saturday after a meeting with Agriculture Minister Florin Barbu that several requests had been accepted, including the postponement of payments, explaining that it was an emergency resolution that was at the approval stage and had been promised that it would be approved at the next meeting of the Government.
He added that the protests are likely to continue as there are still demands on other ministries.
Florin Barbu said that, from the point of view of the Ministry of Agriculture, the protest is closed. Regarding some of the farmers’ claims, a protocol was concluded with the Minister of PSD.
Grindyanu: What was predicted can be accomplished
Transport Minister Sorin Grindeanu said on Saturday night, at the end of a meeting with the protesters, that he had signed a protocol together with their representatives, adding that there were things he could do and that he had committed to.
The Social Democrat also clarified that what was foreseen can be implemented. Therefore, six points have been established that can be implemented within 30 days.
Among them are the creation of special lanes at the borders and in the port of Constanţa, which allow the transit of only trucks from the member states of the European Union, the regulation of the application of the penalty for not having a ticket, if the time spent waiting to cross the border exceeds the validity of the ticket for the relevant day or setting limits, in accordance with European legislation and other EU member states, regarding tolerances for exceeding the weight of trucks by a maximum of 5%
On Sunday, the fifth day of protests by transporters and farmers continues.
According to the Traffic Information Center IGPR, on Sunday the speed will also be reduced in many areas of the country, especially in the lane of big cities, especially in the lane of the Capital, where traffic has been complicated in recent days because of the demonstrations.
On Sunday morning, several trucks are parked in the city of Afumac, on DN 2, lane 1, in the direction of traffic towards Bucharest, with the intention of moving during the day to the capital.
“We advise drivers to be very attentive to all the maneuvers being performed and to avoid the protest areas, because it will be moving at a very low speed, in some places there may even be traffic jams!” – informs the Infotraffic Center.
