Romania defeated Georgia and reached the quarter-finals of the European Championship of men’s polo

Tricolors are unstoppable at the European Championship and reached the quarterfinals.

Romania without special emotions defeated Georgia in the end of the controlled match with the score 18-11 (5-1, 5-3, 3-2, 5-5).

They will meet Spain in the quarter-finals.

In Group D, the “tricolors” won 12-8 against the Netherlands, 13-5 against Slovenia and 8-7 against Slovakia. Thus, they finished in first place with 9 points and played in the playoffs.

Also on Thursday in the playoff phase, Greece vs. the Netherlands 15-10, and Greece will advance to the quarterfinals against Croatia. Italy vs. Montenegro and Hungary vs. Serbia meet in the other two quarters. All matches will take place on Friday.

Then there are the semi-finals on January 14 and the medals on January 16.

The 2024 European champion also qualifies for the Olympic Games in Paris.

At the CE 2022 exhibition, Romania took 10th place.

Qualifying in the fourth parts of this year’s European Championship will bring the three-color ticket to the World Championship, which will be held on February 2-18 in Doha. Three teams from CE2024 qualify for the World Cup, and from the quarters played on Friday, five representative teams have previously qualified – Spain and Italy (World Cup 2023), Hungary, Greece, Serbia (World Cup 2023), reports news.ro .
