The Premier League leaders conceded after just 19 minutes when Brazilian Willian opened the scoring for the visitors.
In the second half, Klopp released Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, and the former provided the decisive pass for Curtis Jones’ 1-1 success (min. 68).
After 3 minutes, Gakpo made the score 2:1 and established the final score of the game.
The return match will take place on January 24.
In the other semi-final, “Middlesbrough” defeated “Chelsea” with a score of 1:0.
