Noticing that items he left unattended overnight would mysteriously be removed in the morning, retired Rodney Holbrook installed a night vision camera on his workbench in his shed.

When he looked at the pictures, he was surprised to find that it was a mouse picking up clothes hooks, corks, nuts and bolts that were out of place and placing them in a tray on his desk.

“In 99 cases out of 100, the mouse cleans overnight. It’s really incredible that he puts them all back in the box, I think he might like it,” he said of the rodent, which he named Welsh Tidy Mouse.

Holbrook even experimented by leaving various objects to see if the mouse could pick them up, but the rodent was undaunted and did its trick.

“I don’t clean now because I know he will take care of it. I leave things outside the box, and by morning I put them in their place,” said the Welshman.
