The Romanian team won the first match at the European Men’s Polo Championship with a score of 12-8 against the Netherlands. The match of group D took place in Dubrovnik (Croatia).

Romania beat Netherlands 12-8 at CE Men’s Polo

The score at halftime was 3-1, 3-3, 4-3, 2-1.

The beginning of the game was balanced: the Batavian team scored first, took a three-color lead (3:1), but tied 3 and 4. Romania was better in the last half and won an important victory.

Goals for the Romanian national team (coach Bohdan Rath) were scored by Tudor Fulea (4), Silvian Kolodrovski (3), Matei Lucescu, Andrei Cepelus, Vlad Georgescu, Levente Vancik and David Beleniesi (1 each).

Tom De Weerd, Lars ten Broek (2 goals each), Bilal Gbadamassi, Guus van Ijperen, Kaste Riele and Jesse Koopman (1 each) scored for the Netherlands.

  • In another Group D match, Slovakia defeated Slovenia 11:7.
  • In Romania, the next matches are against Slovenia (January 7, 18:45) and Slovakia (January 9, 18:45).
  • At the Women’s Polo Championship, Romania lost to the Czech Republic 13:12 in the first match of Group C. The tricolors will also meet Serbia (January 6, 2:30 p.m.) and Turkey (January 7, 10: 00 a.m.).
