As you no doubt know, from 2035 the sale of thermal cars will be strictly prohibited throughout Europe. This is, to put it mildly, a radical measure adopted by the European Union, which wants to drastically reduce CO2 emissions on the Old Continent. And this, in particular, will involve reducing the place of internal combustion engines on the roads, which will gradually be replaced electric car. And inevitably, manufacturers must adapt to this new rule of the game, which involves numerous and very expensive long-term investments. Thus, all brands are now turning to electricity en masse.

Memory

This also applies to Ford, which in recent years has been massively announcing its transition to zero emissions. And it is not for nothing that the American firm released its Mustang Mach-E, and recently raised the curtain on its new Guide. By the way, the latter uses the Volkswagen ID.4 technical base to save development. Other models are also in the works, such as the electric Puma, scheduled for 2025. But it seems like it’s actually a little more complicated than that for the blue oval company, while its F-150 Lighting electric pickup is trying to seduce.

Falling investment

Thus, the American manufacturer, based in Dearborn, Michigan, decided reduce the production of the latter as well as its Mustang-inspired electric SUV. But that’s not all, because the capacity of its battery plant has also been reduced, which could also affect its projects in Europe. Thus, it cannot be ruled out that the Puma, like the upcoming electric Capri, will be delayed until next year. We already know that the launch of the Explorer will take place a little later than expected, also due to concerns related to Volkswagen.
