PSD MEP Mihai Tudose says that former president Traian Basescu is a respected politician in the European Parliament, writes News.ro. “He is a very well-informed and intelligent guy,” Mihai Tudose described the former head of state, although they were in different political camps.

PSD MEP Mihai Tudose was asked in Prima News whether Traian Basescu is still active in the European Parliament.

“Sometimes yes. Know that it is respected. Mr. President Traian Basescu, for better or for worse, is a very well-informed and intelligent guy,” answered Mihai Tudose.

The MEP from PSD claims that he drinks coffee with Traian Basescu and discusses topics related to the agenda of the European Parliament with the former president.

“Yes, I drink coffee with him, even if politically we were opponents, even enemies. We are Romanians there, and if you call him to explain: “We have a problem with voting, do you think it would be wrong to…”, Mr. Traian Basescu answers the phone and has arguments for or against. There is a guy who is also calling. I heard him speak. He doesn’t talk nonsense, he doesn’t take a word to wake up on the road,” Mihai Tudose concluded.
