
While the second generation of the BMW 2 Series continues to attract attention with its extremely surprising design, the first opus of the Bavarian coupe has been released in a sporty version called BMW M2 : probably, this is the model that arouses the greatest interest among fans of the German brand.
On the other side of the Atlantic, American entrepreneur Michael Fuchs is known for his passion for rare and expensive cars. In 2017, he got a new BMW M2, which cost him a modest $114,085, equivalent to €104,314. It has a feature: it a single copy which came off the chains of BMW with yellow shade “Austin Gelb”used to be much more popular on M3s.
BMW M2: only 48 km on the clock
This BMW M2 example, bearing the serial number WBS1H9C58HV886827, saw very little use during its 6-year career: in fact, today it only displays 48 km on the clock ! This model from the Michael Fux collection, as well as about twenty other vehicles will put up for sale at auction by Mecum Auctions, from January 2 to 14, 2024.
This specimen, in excellent condition, fetched no less than $26,445 (approx. €24,200)parameters at the time, which include a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, adaptive xenon headlights, a heated steering wheel, driver assistance systems, a wireless charger and even a Wi-Fi hotspot.
On board it has a black leather interior decorated with yellow stitching, carbon and Alcantara inserts, electric heated seats, a rearview camera, automatic air conditioning and even a car radio equipped with SiriusXM.
Up for auction in January 2024
Outside, we find carbon fiber side skirt fins, a front bumper with aerodynamic kit, a rear spoiler or even carbon tailpipes from the M Performance exhaust system. The package is completed by BMW M cross-drilled and ventilated disc brakes on all 4 wheels with floating brake discs, as well as 19-inch 359M alloy wheels with a Y-spoke design.
Under the hood we find the BMW N55 twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine that develops 370 horsepower and 500 Nm of torquewhich allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 4.3 seconds.
Regarding the price, Mecum Auctions estimates this unique BMW M2 to be worth around $60,000-$80,000, equivalent toaround 54,800 to 73,100 euros.
