October 24 Stellantis introduced 12 new SUVs in a row for its Peugeot, Citroën, Opel and Fiat brands. By “new” it’s actually more like a restyling that makes them more personal differentiated view, and more technological with an update of the interior and on-board software. There were big vans Boxer, Jumper, Movano and Ducato, whose last restyling was in 2014; vans Expert, Jumpy, Vivaro and Scudo, launched in 2016; and also small vans Partner, Berlingo, Combo and Doblo. At the same time, every brand started announcing their MPV versions. This is the case of Opel, which today presents its own updated versions of Combo and Zafira (the latter comes from the Vivaro utility).
Finally, personal style
To begin with a completely personal opinion, The restyling carried out at Opel is the most successful among the four Stellantis brands. No doubt because Blitz SUVs/minivans had them rather wise, even banal design until now, and this update modernizes them, makes them bigger, and finally gives them some character. We notice it immediately adoption of the famous “Vizor” grille. : Matrix LED lights connected by a black strip that covers the updated screen. Pretty chic, no hassle as in the case of the Peugeot cousin. Aboard, the passenger compartment welcomes the new steering wheeldigital counters and a 10-inch central touch screen. The Combo and Zafira also inherit a new driver assistance package (18 in total).
So far only electric
The first can always accommodate up to 7 passengers and from 775 to 4000 liters luggage depending on the length option and the number of folded seats. Zafira offers up to 9 seats, two lengths and 4900 liters of luggage to the maximum As before, they are (unfortunately) offered only in an electric version. The engine offering is the same for both, viz 136 horsepower. Therefore, they do not inherit the new Stellantis electric unit with a capacity of 156 horsepower. Only their batteries evolve and get a few autonomy points.
Combo carries a package for 50 kWh 330 kilometers autonomy, Zafira doubles its offering by adding a 75kWh battery 350 km of autonomy a total of about twenty more than before. Fairly subtle changes under the hood, but good work on the body and interior. Unlike its cousins in Fiat, Combo and Zafira “restylings” justify their name.
