Brasov City Hall plans to build a photovoltaic park that will provide 90% of total electricity consumption. The system will be located in Stupina on an area of 20 hectares, will have a capacity of 20 MW and will be ready next year.
“We have signed a contract for the construction of a photovoltaic park that will provide 90% of the population’s electricity consumption (educational institutions, public buildings, public lighting, cultural institutions, sports facilities and even the production of artificial snow in Poyan).
We are talking about an important goal in our strategy to transform Brasov into an energy-independent city from the point of view of public energy consumption,” Mayor Allen Coliban wrote on Facebook.
The system will be located in the Stupini area on an area of 20 hectares and will have a capacity of 20 MW.
Works will be performed by Synergy Construct – as a leader, Else Enerji Anonim Sirketi – a third party, Graphein Topo – a subcontractor; ZORK is a subcontractor; Eds Electric SRL is a subcontractor.
The term of the investment is 120 days, of which 30 days are the design stage and 90 days are the execution of works.
The value of the contract is 75.1 million lei (excluding VAT), part of the funds are provided through grant funding through the Operational Program of Large Infrastructure.
According to Koliban, Brasov has set itself an ambitious goal: to reduce carbon emissions by 55% by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
