Three referees from the USA got into a fight on the court during a children’s basketball game

Three referees were involved in a violent altercation at a U10 basketball game near Denver, Colorado. The officials staged a fight on the floor, while the children watched in shock. The referees have been suspended until further notice, rmcsport.fr reports, News.ro reports.

The incident happened in Lakewood, near Denver, Colorado. Two umpires were officiating a junior match when they suddenly got into a brawl in the middle of the game, according to a video shared online.

The reason for the quarrel is not clear. One of them landed a right hook that sent the other to the floor. The man stepped in to prevent further blows, but had trouble keeping the referee down, who remained standing, visibly upset.

The umpire, who had fallen to the ground, got up and started a heated discussion with the third umpire. The two men challenged each other, standing on guard like two boxers. But in the end they did not hit each other.

The incident, which resulted in no casualties, caused a wave of indignation on the other side of the Atlantic. According to TMZ, the police were called, but no arrests were made at the scene, as everyone involved had already left the scene.

The Gold Crown Trust, which runs the building where the fight took place, apologized to the families who witnessed the scene, condemning the “unacceptable behaviour”. Three referees were suspended indefinitely.
