About three-quarters of Romanians say they will not go on vacation at all this winter, and of those who will, just over 10% will spend their winter vacation in Romania, in the mountains, 7.5% will spend it with relatives/in the countryside, over 6% on the Romanian coast and only 2.6% will spend it abroad, according to a survey conducted by CEC Bank in partnership with banking comparator FinZoom.ro.

Among those who will spend their vacation abroad, about 22% said they would go to Turkey, almost 16% chose Spain, 12.5% ​​- Greece, 10% each will vacation in Bulgaria and Italy, and more than 6% – in Egypt. Other holiday destinations include Norway, England and Brazil.

When asked “How many days can you afford to go on vacation this winter” – more than 68% of those who responded to the survey indicated that they will go on vacation for 3-4 days this year, more than 20% said that they decided to spend 7 days vacation, about 8% will go on vacation for 10 days and only 2% will spend two weeks or more on vacation.

Regarding the budget allocated this year for the winter holidays, approximately 80% of respondents indicated that they will allocate less than 1000 lei, more than 11% answered between 1000 – 2000 lei, 6.5% will allocate between 2000 and 4000 lei, and almost 4% intend to spend more than 4,000 lei.

Regarding the means of transport used by Romanians on holiday, the first choice is a personal car. More than half of those who will go on vacation will go by car, about 23% chose a trip, more than 15% – a bus and about 8% – a plane.

The survey was conducted by online financial comparator FinZoom on behalf of CEC Bank on a sample of about 1,200 respondents from all over the country, representing Internet users. 53% of respondents have a salary, 75% live in the city and more than 27% have higher education.
