
This year, Kaufland in Romania once again celebrated the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a series of events aimed at promoting diversity both in the labor market and at the societal level. As a sign of solidarity, on December 3, the company lit up the Kaufland store and head office on Barbu Văcărescu Street in purple, symbolizing support for people with disabilities, once again expressing its commitment to equal opportunities at all levels.
Kaufland is an active promoter of diversity and inclusion, and through the ACCES (Employment of Candidates with Special Requirements and Development) program launched in 2019, the retailer invests in the professional and social integration of people with disabilities. More than 450 colleagues with disabilities have become part of the Kaufland team, and another 700 special vacancies are open for new members who want to join.
To continue its efforts to promote inclusion, the company lit the Kaufland store and headquarters in Barbu Văcărescu purple on December 3, together with new ACCES ambassador George Balte, a former wheelchair rugby player and marathon runner. and motivational speaker. This action was launched as a sign of solidarity as part of the Purple Night Romania initiative run by the Romanian Diversity Chamber of Commerce (RDCC).
