Belgium and Romania will meet at the 2024 European Championship (June 14-July 14) and Red Devils coach Domenico Tedesco has spoken about Edi Jordenescu’s side and the other opponents in Group E.
Romania will play at Euro 2024 in Group E along with Belgium, Slovakia and Bosnia/Ukraine/Israel and Iceland.
“Romania is a very young and very talented team,” says Domenico Tedesco
At the age of 38, Tedesco said the Romanian national team was “a very young and very talented team”. He stated that “there are no easy opponents in such a tournament” and “there is nothing predictable in football.”
“Romania won their group (from the previous matches no) against Switzerland. This is a very young and very talented team with interesting players like Hagi, a big name, son of Gheorghe. But it’s not just about him: Dragushyn, for example, is a strong central defender. I will name only a few names, but I already know them a little.
It seems like an easier group than Group B (Spain, Croatia, Italy and Albania), but we’ve all been around football long enough to know that what’s on paper isn’t the truth, and paper isn’t the pitch.
Slovakia, for example, finished second behind Portugal and lost only two matches, both against Portugal: 0-1 and 2-3. This is just an example of the difference between what is on paper and what is on the ground” – Domenico Tedesco, coach of the Belgian national team.
