Romania joins 122 other ISA member states to actively contribute to the global green transition. The signing of the ISA accession agreement is an important step in achieving the United Nations’ clean and sustainable energy goals by 2030.

By joining the International Solar Alliance, Romania is taking a leading role in promoting solar energy at the regional and global levels. ISA also creates an enabling environment for cooperation and knowledge transfer between member states, promoting partnerships and investments in the energy sector. Thus, Romania will be able to take advantage of international experience and financial resources to accelerate the implementation of solar energy systems and other innovative technologies.

“Studies have estimated Romania’s technical solar potential at 19.35 GW (25.80 TWh), of which approximately 18.05 GW (24.18 TWh) could be economically viable for investment in a minimum scenario. We are confident that we will be able to achieve these ambitious goals and be an example of excellence in the industry, including by developing the production chains of photovoltaic panels and related components, for which we are preparing to re-launch the call for projects (investment 4 ) from the PNRR,” said Energy Minister Sebastian Burduya
