Christina Nyagu is expected to return to the field in the Main Groups of the Women’s Handball WC
Nyagu injured his right knee (posterior medial angle injury) during the match between CSM Bucharest and VSC Debrecen (Champions League) and Florentin Pera announced that he is likely to miss the Group E matches (with Chile, Serbia and Denmark) and will return on the field in the main group stage.
“Kristina Nyagu is currently in the process of recovery. He did not train with the team. Trained separately, did an infiltration yesterday.
She was not present at the team’s training camp in Bucharest to be vetted and infiltrated. The medical staff is making every effort to help her recover. I am waiting for a sign from the doctor when he can enter.
It will be difficult for Christina as she has not trained for the past two weeks. Even if the preparation will start in the next few days, it will take some time. She is a very valuable player, the leader of the team, the captain of the team, it is a big loss.
I hope that at least in the second part of the competition, in the main groups, they will be able to enter and help us achieve our goal. She wants to finish qualifying for the Olympic Games. The first step is the World Cup. There will be fiery matches, each match will be like a final” – Florentin Pera, Romanian coachreports AS.ro.
At the World Handball Championship, Romania is in Group E along with Denmark, Serbia and Chile. The first three places qualify for the main competition group.
