Israel will not exchange Palestinian prisoners for non-Israeli hostages, a senior Israeli official told NBC News.

Other countries will have to negotiate the release of their citizens, the official said.

Dual nationals, meaning those who hold Israeli citizenship along with citizenship of another country, are still included in Israel’s potential deal, they said.

Earlier, the same source reported the details of the preliminary agreement with Hamas, which is awaiting a vote in the Israeli government.

They said that under the deal, Hamas would release 50 women and children in exchange for 150 Palestinian prisoners held by Israel, including all women and children.
