Several ambitious drivers failed to make it past Q3 in qualifying for the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas. Charles Leclerc will start from pole position, followed by his teammate Carlos Sainz Jr. (but he will start from 12th place after receiving a penalty).

  • The Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, starting at 08:00 (Romanian time) and will be available to watch live on Digisport, Orange Sport and Prima Sport channels.

Charles Leclerc, pole position in Las Vegas – Hamilton, Perez and Norris failed to catch Q3, Verstappen second

The McLaren drivers did not make it to Q3 (the last part of qualifying) (Oscar Piastre and Lando Norris were eliminated from Q1), but also Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sergio Perez (RedBull) – both were eliminated in Q2.

Ferrari single-seaters were at their best on the Sin City street circuit, with Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. fastest.

The Monegasque will start from pole position for Sunday’s race, while his team-mate Carlos Sainz Jr will be 12th at the start of the Grand Prix (he received a 10-place penalty after arriving for his third battery change of the season).

Max Verstappen (RedBull – starts second in the race) and George Russell (Mercedes – will be third) will take advantage of Sainz’s demotion.

There were several surprises in the top ten of qualifying: Pierre Gasly starts from 4th place in the Grand Prix, Alexander Albon – from 5th, Logan Sargeant – from 6th, Valtteri Bottas – from 7th, Kevin Magnussen – from the 8th.
