Milan lost important points away from Lecce

Milan continue to surprise in unpleasant ways this season.

Despite getting the upper hand against PSG in the Champions League groups earlier this week, Stefano Pioli’s side were held to a draw away to Lecce in their Serie A Round of 12 tie.

AC Milan produced an exceptional first half at the Stadio Via del Mare and managed to score twice thanks to Olivier Giroud (28th minute) and Tijana Reynders (35th minute).

In the second half, the multiple champion of Italy was unrecognizable.

Nicola Sansone reduced the difference for the hosts (min. 66), and Lamek Banda restored the tie with a pass from the same Sansone.

The visitors’ nightmare continued and in extra time Olivier Giroud was sent off for two yellow cards received within seconds.

In addition, the hosts also did not score a goal in the fourth minute of extra time due to a foul.
