Ronnie O’Sullivan lived up to his status as a heavy favorite by defeating Ali Carter 6-4 to reach the semi-finals of the Tianjin International Championship.
Nicknamed “Rocket”, he conceded the first frame of the game, but then led and even managed to pull away (probably decisively) to 4-2.
However, Carter (11th in the world) was able to bounce back (also amid a slump in Ronnie’s game) and add drama to the dispute in the quarters as he leveled at 4.
However, O’Sullivan was the more inspired player at the end of the game and the victory came after the world leader won the last two frames of the match (6-4).
