Stephen Maguire produced the snooker surprise of the day at the International Championship when the Scot defeated Judd Trump to end his opponent’s 22-match winning streak.

Maguire (ranked 30th in the world) won 6-3 in the second round match at the international championship in China.

Judd Trump’s fantastic streak included 22 consecutive victories and three tournament victories: the English Open, the Wuhan Open and the Northern Ireland Open.

Ronnie O’Sullivan is also taking full advantage of the defeat of Trump (the so-called ace of the pack), who is now confident that he will remain world leader regardless of the course he takes in the race that is taking place these days in China.

The Rocket will lead snooker until at least the British Championship, which is scheduled for November 25-December 3.
