According to the police inspection of Ilfov county, on Monday, around 9:34 p.m., a family member from the Bercheny commune informed the institution about the admission of a minor, who was showing unruly behavior, to the department at number 112. specialized medical.

Police officers from the city of Popesti-Leordeni arrived there, and during the intervention, one of the police officers was physically attacked in the chest area by the minor, hitting him with a blunt object.

A medical team arrived there and provided first aid to the injured policeman, after which he was taken to a hospital in Bucharest for specialized care.

The perpetrator is immobilized and is in the pre-trial detention center.

Representatives of the Europol Union say that the stabbing of the police officer was committed by a person “who was found to have a mental illness.”

  • “The police intervened in the case, which was reported through 112. The patrol was called to the Bercheny area, probably because of a family scandal. After arriving at the scene, the teenager took a knife and stuck it into the chest of one of the police officers,” the trade unions testify.

They say that at the level of the capital police, the trade union provided 40 devices with electric shockers for free a month ago.

  • “Nevertheless, although 20 of them can already be used by street policemen, the head of the capital police refuses to equip policemen with them, following instructions from “above”. If, in this particularly serious case, one of the police officers had a device with stun guns, his life would not be in danger. It is only a matter of time when we will also have cases of aggression in Bucharest, and the policemen will not be able to defend themselves, because managerial incompetence is the order of the day in the Romanian police,” the union representatives claim.
