Technical characteristics BT

  • BT has some of the lowest cash handling fees for both individuals and businesses.
  • BT has the largest network of ATMs in Romania (1,850, of which more than 1,000 are located in small and medium-sized cities, including rural areas), more than 500 units (almost all of them handle cash) and an established reception network of more than 120,000 POS terminals.
  • BT has increased the number of ATMs and maintained the number of cash-only units, given that many banks have decided to limit these operations, thus processing more than 100 billion lei annually.
  • There is no connection between the adjustment of BT tariffs and the recently announced fiscal measures (regarding the restriction of cash transactions). BT’s measures have long been debated and analyzed domestically, with no increase for three years and costs for cash handling and used car servicing rising steadily
  • Although the trend in the banking market and in the civilized world in general is to limit cash transactions, BT will continue to support a strong ecosystem to manage Romanians’ money, while maintaining the security of cash transactions. BT will therefore continue its ongoing investment in cash handling capabilities.

However, BT has decided to delay any increase in cash transaction fees for now.
