A 20-year-old man was taken into custody after he blackmailed his ex-girlfriend by posting compromising images on social media, IPJ Dâmboviţa reported on Thursday.

According to Agerpres, a 20-year-old girl from the commune of Dambovitsa in Cobia was threatened with publishing compromising images on the Internet if she did not resume her relationship with her ex-boyfriend.

“The investigation established that on the night of June 19-20, as well as in the afternoon of October 26, he allegedly threatened a 20-year-old woman from Kobia commune through a messaging application that she would publish compromising video images on social networks and other sites if they will not restore relations. In addition, on October 26, he published a video clip on the messaging app during sex with the victim,” IPJ Dâmboviţa representatives said.

In this case, the police also conducted two searches.

“On November 1, after the inspection provided by the police of the city of Geshti – the criminal investigation department, under the leadership of the prosecutor of the Geshti court prosecutor’s office, on behalf of a 20-year-old man from Slobozhanshchyna commune, Argesh county, the judge of rights and freedoms chose a preventive measure in the form of an arrest for 30 days . In order to document criminal activity, the police, with the support of Damboviţa Special Action Service fighters, conducted two search warrants in the buildings used by the 20-year-old boy,” IPJ Dâmboviţa reports.

After the search, an arrest warrant was issued, and the person was taken to Geshti police headquarters for questioning.

The young man was initially detained for 24 hours on the basis of the resolution, being investigated for blackmail and violation of customs.
