Craiova University took a step towards the quarter-finals of the Romanian Cup after beating UTA 1-0 in the second group stage.

The formation trained by Corneliu Papure and Dragos Bohn secured their first group win after an ignominious draw with KS Tunari in the first round.

The players from Olten dominated the game and hit Kucher’s post, while Kretsu and Ivan missed great opportunities to score.

The goal was near the end, in the 80th minute, when Alexandru Matei got up and perfectly headed the ball from a corner into the goal.

Craiova University need a win in their last group game against Farului Constanta to reach the quarter-finals.
