Initial examinations conducted by forensic experts showed that the death of the famous actor Matthew Perry did not occur from an overdose of fentanyl or methamphetamine, writes TMZ. However, the investigation into his death continues to find out whether there were other substances in the actor’s body at the time of his death.
The final results will be ready in the next four to six months, and only then will the coroner be able to determine exactly how and why Matthew Perry died.
Medicines were found at the actor’s home, issued according to a doctor’s prescription, based on several diseases.
54-year-old actor Matthew Perry, who played the character of Chandler Bing in the hit sitcom “Friends”, was found dead in his home in Los Angeles on Saturday. According to the Los Angeles Times, the actor was found dead in the bathtub, Agerpres notes.
According to anonymous sources cited by the same newspaper and tabloid TMZ that first reported the death, no evidence of foul play was found.
Perry was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts, to an actor and journalist mother. Perry moved with her to Ottawa, Canada as a child after her parents divorced.
Perry followed his passion for tennis and became the best player in Canada. Like his father, young Perry became interested in acting after moving to Los Angeles to live with him as a teenager. The first role attributed to Perry was a small one, in the drama “240-Robert”, in 1979.
Later, he was offered other small roles in such series as Charles in the Head, Silver Spoons and The Tracey Ullman Show.
He got his first acting role while still in high school, starring opposite River Phoenix in the 1988 film A Night in the Life of Jimmy Reardon.
A year before that film’s release, Perry starred in the sitcom Second Chances (later renamed Boys Will Be Boys), about a man who dies and returns to earth to mentor a younger version of himself, played by Perry.
The series didn’t catch on with viewers, but Perry landed bigger roles in television projects including Growing Pains, Who’s the Host, and Beverly Hills, 90210.
