Since then, sales of alternative energy models have skyrocketed, with a third of new registrations in 2022 (that’s almost 520,000 cars)… Not including 270,000 used cars. Capacity growth confirmed in 2023 with 37% of new registrations ! Result, a phenomenal deficit for the regions, which can be very roughly estimated at at least 500 million euros. straw.

Free in 4 regions only!

However, the product of registration cards represents – as well as part of the TICPE (tax on domestic consumption of energy products) on fuel – significant receipts of indirect taxes for the regions. That is why, without much surprise, in two years, eight of them completely or partially canceled the preference given to hybrids & Co. In other words, completely free currently only exists in four regions ! At least for now… Regional budgets for 2024, which will be voted on before the end of the year, are indeed likely. prepare some bad surprises for us. Will there be a semi-generous Hauts-de-France with Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Corsica, Normandy and Pac? Answer within a few weeks…

No changes in electricity

In this form, they retain all their advantages: no weight penalty (we will do it again in 2025…), free registration document in all regions without exception (only a fixed tax of 13.76 euros is paid) and even in another register, expanding the TSCA exemption (Special tax on insurance contracts) on insurance premiums (which was supposed to end at the end of 2023). This is a savings of approx 18% on the formula of all risks.
