Born in 1998, Polestar waited many years before joining Volvo, as the Swedish firm only bought the company in 2015. Thus, the latter became his attracted coach as well as his competition team. But in 2017, the story takes a twist as Volvo wants to make Polestar a new independent brand, similar to Citroën with the DS or even Seat with the Cupra. Polestar’s goal? Offer sporty and electrified models that look like Volvo cars.

A difficult matter
There is nothing to report on paper. Except the brand quickly ran into a problem, through your logo. Indeed, the latter was deemed too close to Citroën, so the French manufacturer initiated legal proceedings to prevent Polestar from selling its cars in France. Even the website of the Swedish company was not available from our country! But now things have finally changed as an agreement has been reached between the two rivals. Thus, Polestar is now authorized to sell its cars in our territory.
Is this for when?
Now the big question: when will we see Polestars on the streets? Rumor has it that it’s not that long Restyled Polestar 2 may be the first model from the manufacturer to be sold here. The latter, which competes in particular with the Tesla Model 3, is available in several versions with up to 476 horsepower with a range of 635 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle.
