The Israeli army has asked civilians in the northern Gaza Strip to evacuate the area to the south of the region, warning that there will be large-scale attacks on Hamas.

On Sunday, an Israeli army spokesman posted an announcement in Arabic on the X (formerly Twitter) platform.

People concerned about the safety of their families should head south, the IDF said in a statement, saying members of Hamas, which rules Gaza, only care about themselves and their families.

The Israeli military said that hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have already moved to the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, there were reports that Hamas was preventing Palestinian civilians from leaving Gaza City to the south. Israel accuses the Palestinian terrorist movement of using civilians as human shields.

A large-scale military operation by Israel against the northern part of the Gaza Strip is inevitable. The American edition of The New York Times reported on Saturday evening that the Israeli ground offensive had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions.

Cloudy skies made it difficult for warplanes to take off and launch Israeli drones, which are supposed to provide air support for Israeli ground forces entering Gaza.

On October 7, the Palestinian movement Hamas carried out a brutal and large-scale terrorist attack on settlements in the south of Israel, which provoked a harsh response from the Israeli army.
