The United States sees no sign that any country or “additional players” are seeking to join Hamas’ attack on Israel, US Army Chief of Staff Charles Brown said in Brussels on Wednesday, AFP reported.

“We have seen no signs of additional actors being involved to the detriment of Israel,” Brown said at a news conference.

US President Joe Biden ordered US warships and fighter jets to approach the coast of Israel and increased US military aid to Israel.

Such positioning also has a deterrent effect, explained the Chief of the General Staff. “It’s not just about supporting Israel, it’s about a deterrent,” he emphasized.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, also present at the press conference, echoed President Biden’s warning.

“For any country, for any organization, for anyone who thinks of taking advantage of the tragedy in Israel to try to expand the conflict or shed more blood, we have one word: don’t do it,” the US official said.
