
Judge Gabriela Cristina Mazilu of the Bucharest Court cannot acquit more than 6 million euros (30 million lei), the National Integrity Agency (ANI) announced on Wednesday. The institution also checks, in the case of an employee with a special status of the Metropolitan Police, an amount that is not in the documents, exceeding 200,000 euros.
The National Integrity Agency announced on Wednesday that it had found an unjustified difference between acquired property and realized income of 31,602,501 lei, respectively, in the case of a judge and a civil servant with a special status of the Metropolitan Police.
It is about Gabriela – Cristina Mazila, judge of the Court of Bucharest and former judge of District Court 4. In her case, an unjustified difference of 30,388,515 lei was found, which means more than 6 million euros.
The second target person – Ionuc – Victor Nikorestianu, a civil servant with a special status in the General Directorate of the Police of the Municipality of Bucharest, in whose case an unjustified difference of 1,213,986 lei was found.
The National Integrity Agency reports that it has notified the Commission for Investigating the Assets of the Court of Appeal of Bucharest to initiate a control action on changes in the assets of both and the income received during the performance of public functions.
ANI also claims that two people have submitted their views on the assessment file.
There are no assets or accounts on the balance sheet
Judge Gabriela Cristina Mazilu’s latest wealth declaration, filed in June 2023, does not mention any assets – real estate, land or car. In the declaration of wealth from 2021, the judge indicated a 70 square meter apartment in Bucharest, bought in 1998.
