The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense in Kyiv, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the Ukrainian army tried three times to liberate the city of Energodar and the Zaporizhzhya NPP from the Russian occupation, but without success, the Korespondent newspaper reports, citing Rador Radio Romania.
In an interview with NV Budanov noted that during the first operation, Ukrainian fighters arrived near Energodar, but could not gain a foothold.
After that, the Ukrainian military tried twice more to reach the left bank of the Dnieper, in the last of which several hundred people participated.
“With each operation, the GUR fighters gained experience, but the occupiers also became more and more prepared,” noted the head of Ukrainian military intelligence.
During the third amphibious operation, the Russians pulled heavy military equipment, including tanks, directly onto the shore, which prevented the Ukrainian special forces from gaining a foothold in the area.
